How You Can Build With Us

Three Ways to Build With Us

Custom Homes

For clients who want a home designed specifically around their property, lifestyle, and preferences — from the first sketch to the final finish, built entirely around what you want.

Semi-Custom Homes

For clients who want flexibility and personalization without starting every design decision completely from scratch. You still get real input on layout, finishes, and features — just with a proven foundation to build from.

Build on Your Land

Already own land, or under contract on a property? We build homes designed to fit your specific site. Still evaluating land or not sure where to start? We can walk through feasibility with you before you commit to anything.

Why Wooded Mountain Builders

A Different Kind of Building Experience

Land & Site Guidance First

Before you commit to a plan, we help you understand what your land can actually support — grading, access, orientation, and realistic budget — so there are no expensive surprises later.

A Responsive Project Team

You'll always know who to call and where your project stands. We keep communication direct and decisions fast, without the layers of a large production builder.

Built With Intention, Not Volume

We take on projects deliberately rather than stacking up a backlog. That means less overhead, a faster start once we're engaged, and a project team that can move quickly and stay responsive — without the queue and layers that come with a high-volume builder.

Our Process

A Clear Process From Land to Move-In

1

Land & Feasibility Review

We evaluate slope, access, septic and well suitability, and utilities, whether you already own the land or are still deciding on a property.

2

Design & Planning

We work through layout, style, and site orientation together, building a design that fits your land, your budget, and how you want to live.

3

Budget & Preconstruction

Before breaking ground, we finalize selections and pricing so you have a clear, realistic budget and timeline going into construction.

4

Building Your Home

Our team manages construction start to finish with regular updates, so you always know what is happening and what is next.

Land & Site Feasibility

Already Own Land? Start With a Feasibility Conversation.

Before you finalize a design or a budget, it helps to know what your land can actually support. We offer feasibility evaluations covering slope, access, septic and well suitability, and site conditions, so you can plan your custom home with confidence from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

New Home Construction

Budget varies by scope, site conditions, and finish level — the form has the ranges we typically see, and we'll give you honest guidance on what's realistic for your goals early on.

Custom means we design your home from the ground up around your property and preferences. Semi-custom starts from a proven foundation but still gives you real input on layout, finishes, and features — it's a faster path to the same quality, not a lesser one.

No. Many of our clients already own or are under contract on land, but we also work with clients still evaluating property or who aren't sure where to start. We can help you assess whether a piece of land is a good fit to build on.

Not at all. Some clients come to us with completed plans, others are working with an architect, and some are just getting started. We'll help you figure out the right next step based on where you are.

We build in Asheville and the surrounding area — generally within about 30 minutes — including Black Mountain, Weaverville, Candler, Hendersonville, Fletcher, and Mars Hill.

We build with intention, not volume. Taking on fewer projects at a time means we can start faster, make decisions quicker, and give your project direct attention from the owner and the project team — without the backlog and overhead of a high-volume builder.
