The Hutch is one structure within a larger retreat in Madison County, designed to feel like a real home rather than a scaled-down version of one. That meant working through the same questions any home needs answered. Where does real furniture actually fit? Is there a closet? Where do the washer and dryer go?
The kitchen skips a dishwasher, a deliberate tradeoff to keep the space functional rather than trying to fit in every standard appliance. Every layout decision was made around how the space would actually be lived in day to day, not just how it would look.
The result is a full bathroom, a working kitchen, and enough real living space to feel settled, all within a footprint that still fits naturally into the surrounding landscape and the larger retreat it's part of.
