The Perch is a 1,200-square-foot luxury mountain home currently under construction in Mars Hill, NC, just north of Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every detail of the design is built around making a compact footprint feel expansive: vaulted ceilings soar over the main living space, while 10-foot ceilings continue throughout the rest of the home, giving each room a sense of openness rarely found at this scale. The open kitchen, dining, and living area is designed for easy everyday living or a full-time mountain retreat, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms offering comfortable space for family or guests. The renderings in the gallery below show the floor plan and interior design as construction moves forward. The Perch is the newest addition to a larger mountain retreat in Madison County, the same property where Wooded Mountain Builders built The Hutch, a 350-square-foot tiny house. Where The Hutch proved how much could be done with a small footprint, The Perch takes a different approach: 1,200 square feet with vaulted ceilings over the main living space and 10-foot ceilings throughout, giving the home a sense of scale that has little to do with its size on paper.
